INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Holland Water Challenge, an exciting competition for Chinese engineering students with a passion for water technology and business.

Introduction
Over hundreds years of history, Holland built a world-famous reputation in delta- and water technology. Dutch engineers, policy makers and researchers are active throughout the world to work on some of the toughest water challenges in areas such as drinking water, waste water treatment, water reuse and coastal/river water management.

During the Holland Water Week at the World Expo in Shanghai (4-11 June 2010), leading companies, research institutions and local governments from Holland will be combining their strengths to present their knowledge and experience in delta- and water technology. Holland Water Challenge
To emphasize the importance of creating awareness and interest for water management with younger generations, the organisation of the Holland Water Week offers Chinese engineering students a unique opportunity to participate in the Holland Water Challenge and present their ideas to leading water experts from both the Netherlands and China.

During the Grand Final of the competition, during a special dinner with senior government and company officials, the best students will be presenting their ideas. The winner of the competition will be offered an internship in Holland with a leading water technology company which may be your start to an exciting international career in water management!
